The North Atlantic Fiddle Convention is a world-class event unlike any other. This year, from 11–15 July in Aberdeen it brings some of the world’s top musicians, dancers and academics to perform and discuss the rich fiddle and dance styles that have developed around the North Atlantic seaboard.

The North Atlantic Fiddle Convention which visits Aberdeen from the 11–15 of July 2018, is a unique globe-trotting event for lovers of fiddle music, dance and learning. It is both an exhilarating festival, celebrating and showcasing the very best of fiddle and dance styles from around the North Atlantic seaboard, and an international academic conference attracting some of the world’s top minds working on related research.

For learner and audiences, there will be a large and varied programme of talks, presentations and hands-on fiddle and dance workshops taught by local, national and international tutors as well as a fiddle camp for young people led by celebrated Scottish fiddler Patsy Reid. Expect ceilidhs and symposia, film screenings and pub sessions, club nights and pop-up gigs, busking trails and international concerts and so much more.
